She passed away peacefully in Sarasota, Florida, surrounded by the warmth of her family's love. She was preceded in death by her father, Lewis Amos Underwood, and her mother, Sarah Curry Jackson-Petrillo. Sharon was a graduate of Southside High School, class of 1973. Her Christian faith was the cornerstone of her existence, guiding her actions and nurturing her compassionate soul. Sharon's life was a living example of the scripture, "And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love" (1 Corinthians 13:13).
Sharon's heart of gold shone brightly in her love for her family. She is survived by her devoted daughters, Erica Jarvis and Tara Jarvis-Stevens, who were blessed with a mother whose love knew no bounds. Her son-in-law, Chris Stevens, grandchildren Ava, Michael, and Michelle, and her brother Jeff Underwood, and sister-in-law, Cyndie Underwood, will forever cherish the memories of her selfless nature and the joy she brought into their lives. Her interests were as varied as they were passionate.
Sharon found solace in the timeless tales of classic black and white movies and the spirited energy of rock and roll music. She was an avid reader and loved arts and crafts. Sharon's legacy is one of unwavering love and selflessness. She walked through life with a faith-filled heart as she always saw the beauty in others and in the world, even in times of trial.
