Sheriff's Office honored for recruiting film

Posted

BRADENTON - It may not be as prestigious as an Emmy, but the award the Manatee County Sheriff's Office has received is to honor it for a recruiting film.

According to a press release, the department has been named a winner in the 30th annual TELLY Awards, an international competition. The recruiting video, titled "You Can Make a Difference," was selected for honors from among nearly 11,000 entries from around the world. The five-minute work gives an overview of the Sheriff's Office and has been used around the state in an effort to attract quality job applicants.

In 2008, the Sheriff's Office won top honors in the VIDEOGRAPHER Awards for the documentary "MSO 24."

Founded in 1979, the TELLY Awards honor the best local, regional and cable television commercials and programs, as well as the finest video and film productions, and work created for the Web.
