SHIP Funds Available for Housing Rehab, Down Payments

BRADENTON -- Money is available to help residents buy a home or fix up their existing one. The City of Bradenton Housing & Community Development Division received $71,358 in State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP) funding from the Florida Housing Finance Corp. for the 2011-12 program year.

About $20,000 is available for down payments and about $51,358 for housing rehabilitation assistance. The City is accepting applications now until Sept. 29.
