BRADENTON – The South Manatee Branch Library will host 8 special events for school-age children this summer, beginning June 12 and continuing through July 31. Seating for all of the events is free and will be available on a first come, first serve basis. Everyone is welcome to attend, and no registration is necessary.
- Thursday, June 12 at 2:00 p.m. Florida Public Archaeology Network
- Thursday, June 19 at 2:00 p.m. Water Resources presented by Parks and Natural Resources
- Thursday, June 26 at 2:00 p.m. Sound Science presented by Mad Science
- Thursday, July 3 at 2:00 p.m. Didgeridoo Down Under
- Thursday, July 10 at 2:00 p.m. Science Song Soup presented by The Earthlings
- Thursday, July 17 at 2:00 p.m. Worm Composting presented by UF IFAS Extension Service
- Thursday, July 24 at 2:00 p.m. Interactive Opera presented by Red Rose Parlour Theater
- Thursday, July 31 at 2:00 p.m. World of Reptiles presented by John Storms
The programs on June 26 and July 3, 10, 24, and 31 are made possible through the generous contributions of the friends of the South Manatee Branch Library.
The following events will be available for teens:
- Thursday, June 19 at 6:00 p.m. Teen Book Club discusses author Margaret Peterson Haddix
- Saturday, June 21 at 2:00 p.m. Craft: Make Your Own Soda
- Thursday, July 17 at 6:00 p.m. Teen Book Club: Veronica Roth’s Divergent
- Saturday, July 19 at 2:00 p.m. Craft: Rock Your Locker
- Thursday, August 14 at 6:00 p.m. Teen Book Club: Lois Lowry’s Son
- Saturday, August 30 at 2:00 p.m. Paper Airplane Competition
Seating for all of these events is free and will be available on a first come, first serve basis. Everyone is welcome to attend, and no registration is necessary.
