BRADENTON -- Ezekiel Hillery, a senior at Palmetto High School, spoke to a group of approximately 150 educators from across Florida, including superintendents and school board members, at a Florida Department of Education event in Orlando earlier this month.
Ezekiel spoke about the positive impact that a Project Lead the Way biomedical science program at Palmetto High has had on his educational experience and aspirations.
The biomedical science program at Palmetto was made possible through a Race to the Top grant that ends this year.
In his speech, Ezekiel stated his goal is to attend Duke University, attain a medical doctorate and become an orthopedic surgeon.
