BRADENTON – Saint Stephen’s Episcopal School recognized student-athletes in a ceremony Thursday morning in the Upper School Commons. Several of the private high school's students have already committed to Division 1 and Division 2 athletic scholarships at colleges around the country.
The list includes East County resident Becca Banks (Guilford College, Soccer), Bradley Beazant (Rice University, Football), Henry Bernet (Augsburg College, Football), JJ Byrnes (Wheaton College, Soccer), Jeremy Jackman (Denison University, Football), Kirsten Samuels (Rhodes College, Soccer), Liyin Xu (Pennsylvania State University, Tennis), Jorge Zavala (Spring Hill College, Soccer), Phoebe Zhao (New York University, Golf).
Other students include Diego Cordoba (Fordham University, Golf), Lauren Csubak (Saint Leo University, Track), and a few students are still deciding on which college they will choose to attend; Matthew Jones (Soccer), Elena Sava (Tennis) and Louis Song (Golf).
