Steven Oppen, 79, son to the late Glen and Ann Oppen, died on May 10, 2026. Born June 28, 1946, in Philadelphia, PA, he most recently resided in Cherry Hill, NJ. He previously lived in East Brunswick, NJ for over 30 years, as well as in Monroe Township, NJ, Lakewood Ranch, FL, and Sarasota, FL.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 47 years, Joyce Oppen (née Okonowsky). He is survived by his children, Marc Oppen (Lori), Michelle Oppen (Jonathan Gordon), and Melissa Enns (Peter), and six grandchildren: Gabe and Shayna Oppen; Talia and Daphne Gordon; and Louis and Sonia Enns. He is also survived by his sister, Vivian Lager, his sister-in-law, Lynn Messer, and his brother-in-law, Mark Messer.
Steven earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Rochester and an MBA from the Wharton School. He held senior finance and administration roles at Merck, Johnson & Johnson, SmithKline Beecham, NEC, and the Howard Hughes Institute. A devoted family man, he loved golf, travel, the beach, and was a lifelong Philadelphia sports fan.
