Steven Seligman, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend, and business leader, passed away in Lakewood Ranch, Florida on May 16, 2024.
Steven was born on March 11, 1939, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the youngest child of Miriam and Leon Seligman. In 1960, Steven graduated from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania and served in the US Army. He then began his professional career as a Certified Public Accountant and established and ran his own accounting firm for over 50 years.
Steven is survived by the love of his life and wife of 61 years, Anita; his older sister Irene, and his children Stacey (Matthew Depasquale), Andrew (Mandy), and Allison (Robert Taraska). He was the proud grandfather of 11 grandchildren: Zachary (Elizabeth), Shelbi (Daniel), Emily, Jesse (Lindsay), Michael, Jake, Cory, Rachel, Dani, Chase and Jack, and two great granddaughters Sophie and Sadie. He adored them all and created special memories with each of them.
Relatives and friends are invited Monday, May 20, 2024, to Toale Brothers Funeral Home, 40 North Orange Avenue, Sarasota, Florida 34236 where funeral services will begin promptly at 10:00 AM in the chapel.
Interment will follow at Temple Beth Sholom Cemetery, 801 Circus Blvd., Sarasota Florida 34232.
Shiva will be observed following the service at the home of Anita Seligman, 9734 Carnoustie Place, Bradenton, Florida, 34211.
