It is with great sadness that the family of Steven Mark Strong announces his passing. Steven was born in Bradenton, FL, on September 15,1961, and departed this life on May 26, 2024.
Steven graduated from Manatee High School in 1979. Steven made a lot of friends from being a member of the Manatee County Sheriffs Cadets Program as well as a DJ at the Sunshine Skating Rink in Bradenton. But later in life Steven's love for animals drew him to the Bishop Animal Shelter where he was a caretaker for the animals on site.
Steven is survived by his father, Leo David Strong and mother, Janett M. James both of Palmetto, Florida. Brothers, Ulysses David Strong of Brooksville, Florida; Otis (Phyllis) Strong of Bradenton and Jimmy Keith (Makeba) Strong of Palmetto, Florida. Steven was also blessed to have a companion in love, Hillary Lindsey-Wurl; daughters in love, Melody (Danny Lima) Wurl and Aubrey (Brad) Bush. Adored grandkids in love Austin, Rylee, Otto, Alina and Arrivana. a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and special friends.
A Memorial Service will be held 1 PM, Saturday, June 8, 2024, at Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory 43rd Street Chapel, 604 43rd Street West, Bradenton, Florida 34209.
