Steven "Steve" J. Verdi of Bradenton, Florida, passed away on Friday, February 14, 2025, at Heritage Park Care Center due to complications of Parkinson's disease.
Steve was born on the West Side of Buffalo, NY, on April 12, 1949, to Betty Jane (Campbell) and Emilio "Jerry" Verdi.
He graduated from Hutch Tech High School in 1967 and married his high school sweetheart, Terry Canazzi, on January 20, 1968.
Steve was a retired master mechanic with Ford Motor Company and moved to Bradenton, Florida, in 2020. He was a loving and supportive husband, brother, father, grandfather, and friend to many.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Betty and Jerry Verdi, and his son, Steven M. Verdi. Steve is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Terry (Canazzi) Verdi; son Paul Verdi and his wife Lisa (Dowling) Verdi; grandchildren Emily (Verdi) Rowland and her husband Matthew, and Elizabeth Verdi; his brother Gerald (the late Mary) Verdi; and sister Marianne Verdi. He also leaves behind many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews whom he cherished deeply.
A Celebration of Steve's Life will be held on April 5, 2025, at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 800 Pine Ridge Heritage Boulevard, Cheektowaga, NY 14225. Please join us at 11 a.m. to celebrate Steve's life.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Steve's name to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
