BRADENTON –The North Port-Bradenton-Sarasota region is one of the best places in the country to own a home, according to the consumer advocacy website NerdWallet.
NerdWallet ranked the area as the 9th best medium-sized metropolitan area in the country for homeownership based on homeownership rate, monthly homeowner costs, monthly household income and population growth.
According to the study, the area has a homeownership rate of 72.6 percent and median monthly homeowner costs are $1,499.
“North Port-Bradenton-Sarasota is an excellent place to buy a home,” said NerdWallet analyst Jaime Ortiz. “The area grew by 1.5 percent from 2011 to 2012.”
Other metropolitan areas that made the cut include Boise, San Antonio, and Indianapolis.
