BRADENTON — Fans of acoustic and folk music are invited to the Sunshine Concert, a mix of local musicians and instruments. The event is scheduled for Saturday, September 27, at 7:00 pm at Manatee Universal Unitarian Fellowship. It will be the culmination of a day of music instruction and sharing at the 1st Annual Sunshine Music Camp, co-sponsored by Friends of Florida Folk and Manatee UU Fellowship.
All eight camp instructors, Linda Pottberg, Lisa Siegfried Bohn, Deborah Gilman, Joe Reina, VGO, James Hawkins, Ishmael Katz, and Norine Mungo, will perform from 7:00 – 9:00 pm, singing and playing guitar, banjo, ukulele, harmonica, blues slide guitar, fiddle, and mountain dulcimer.
Manatee Universal Unitarian Fellowship is located at 322 15th St., Bradenton. Doors open at 6:30 pm. A suggested donation of $10.00 is requested at the door. Refreshments will be available. For more details, visit www.FOFF.org or www.manateeuuf.org.

Fiddle – Deborah Gilman is a retired school teacher who has been the catalyst for the re-birth of the Florida Old Time Music Championships (FOTMC). Harmonica – Joe Reina is an accomplished musician with exceptional skill on harmonica, having played with some of Florida’s greats in music! Mountain (Lap) Dulcimer – VGO is one ofthe original S.S.A.M.C. instructors and heshares an abundance of knowledge of instruments and musical history. Music that reflects Old Time, Civil War, Celtic as well as Classical & Contemporary is all second nature to VGO. He resides and gives instruction in the Arcadia, Fl. area.
Slide Guitar – Ishmael Katz is a multi-faceted musician who can perform as a singer-songwriter with original songs that include social and political satire, ballads ranging in theme from romance to mysticism, blues & ragtime. Songwriting – Norine Mungo is a multi-genre composer, writing music & lyrics. Ukulele – Lisa Seigfried Bohn’s vocals are pure and harmonic and her enjoyment of playing the ukulele shines in her performances. Lisa is active in a few bands and has ‘mad skills’ on the djembe.
