Susan J Canfield (Sudie) 78 passed away unexpectedly on January 30, 2025, at Manatee Memorial Hospital. She was born on December 2, 1946, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of the late Philip Romiti and Arlene (Schill) Romiti.
She attended Ottumwa Heights College, where she received her associates degree. Throughout her life Susan was a devoted caregiver in many capacities including: a mother of six, childcare provider and a certified nursing assistant.
Surviving are her daughters Kathrine (Richard) Ruano, Cynthia (Neil) Maxfield, Amanda (Matthew) Clark, brothers Paul (Joan) Romiti, Anthony (Nancy) Petito, sister Lisa (Alvin) Jones, 5 granddaughters, 4 grandsons, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sons Christopher C. Canfield, Kevin P. Canfield and Joshua W. Canfield. Also, stepmother Grace Romiti, siblings Victoria (Richard) Southcombe and Mark Romiti.
Per Susan's wishes, there will be no viewing or services, and cremation will take place at Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory and her ashes will later be scattered at locations of her choice.
