Susan A. Dufour, affectionately known as Sue to her friends and family, passed away on June 10, 2025, at the age of 60 in Bradenton, Florida, after a courageous battle with lung cancer.

Born on May 5, 1965, in Waterbury, Connecticut, Sue was a beacon of light and a source of unwavering love to all who knew her.

Sue grew up in Waterbury, CT, where she attended Wilby High School and graduated with a class full of friends and memories that she cherished throughout her life. Her intelligence and loving nature were evident from a young age-traits that would come to define her as she journeyed through life.

After completing her education, Sue dedicated her professional life to helping others in her role as a Relative Associate for AFC.

Her work was not just a job but a calling. She poured her heart into supporting and advocating for those in her care. Her colleagues remember her as a beacon of positivity and wisdom, always willing to lend an ear or offer a word of encouragement.

Sue's interests and hobbies were a reflection of her vibrant spirit. She had an enduring love for roller skating, music, and singing, often being the life of the party at gatherings. Her voice was not just a medium of entertainment but an expression of her inner joy and faith. Sue's faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her actions and interactions with the grace and compassion that so many admired.

Sue's family was the center of her universe. She is survived by her beloved husband of 41 years, Eddie Dufour of Bradenton, FL; her son, Kyle Dufour of Nokomis, FL; her daughters, Lauralynn Dufour of Sarasota, FL, and Zoey Dufour of Bradenton, FL; four grandchildren; and one great-grandson. She is also survived by her siblings: brother Fred Sinclair of Clayton, NM; sister Marie Vinduska of LaJunta, CO; sister Tina Pelletier of Virginia, VA; and brother Richard Carignan of Torrington, CT.

She was predeceased by her daughter Colleen Carignan, her mother Norma Carignan, and her father Robert Carignan. Each family member held a special place in her heart, and she took great pride in their accomplishments, sharing in their joys and sorrows with a compassionate heart. To say that Sue will be missed is an understatement. Her absence leaves a void that cannot be filled, but her legacy will live on in the countless lives she touched with her loving and faith-filled spirit. As we bid farewell to Susan A. Dufour, we celebrate a life well-lived-a journey marked by love, intelligence, and a deep-seated faith that inspired all who were privileged to know her. Sue's memory will be cherished and honored as we hold her close in our hearts forever.

A memorial mass will be held on Thursday June 19, 2025, at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 3100 26th Street W, Bradenton, FL 34205
