OCALA--The SCF Manatees dropped its fourth straight losing 69-61 to Tallahassee Community College in Saturday's JUCO Basketball Shootout in Ocala. TCC (11-2) is ranked fourth in the Florida Community College Athletic Association.
Tallahassee led 40-25 at halftime and opened a 19 point lead in the second half. The Manatees closed the gap to five in the final minutes, but could not overcome the Eagles who hit 12 of 13 free throws and hung on for the victory.
Markee Teal led the Manatees with 18 points. Derek Robbins added 14 and Jonathan Miller chipped in with 12.
On Sunday afternoon, SCF broke its losing streak with an 89-84 victory over Pasco Hernando Community College in day two of the JUCO Shootout in Ocala. The Manatees have a record of 5 and 7 on the season.
SCF will not play again until January 5 at Hal Chasey Gymnasium in Bradenton when they face Palm Beach State College in a 7:00 p.m. tip-off.
