Teddy Ray Meade, aged 92, Bradenton resident, passed away at home on February 27th, 2025. Ted was born on January 2nd, 1933 to Virgil Meade and Gertie Meade (nee Cook) in Peach Creek, WV. He was a devoted Christian and member of the West Logan Baptist Church, dividing his time between Logan, WV and Bradenton. Prior to retirement, Ted was the owner of Route 10 Market and Meade Distributing Co. After many years as a franchise owner, Ted, not ready to retire, sold his Arnold wholesaler business and embarked on yet a new business venture before semi-retiring in 1992. Upon partial retirement, Ted ran a successful mayoral campaign in his hometown of West Logan, West Virginia and served two terms as the town's mayor. After fully retiring he enjoyed watching sports and especially liked men's and women's collegiate and professional basketball. Survivors include daughters - Nanette (Dickie) Beazley, Nora (John) Fitzpatrick, and son, Jamie (Patty). Ted is also survived by five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Ted was predeceased by his wife Eleanor Grace Meade (nee Carter), and his son Fred. Ted's legacy is his family, his religious beliefs and his extremely dedicated work ethic. Memorial services will be held on June 14th, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at West Logan Baptist Church with Reverend Mark Totten officiating. Ted's ashes will be interred along with his wife Eleanor during a graveside ceremony at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Peck's Mill, WV. Friends and family are invited to attend.
