Teresa Maria Biskup-Vereb, 83, passed away at home on January 22, 2026. Born in Warsaw, Poland, during World War 2, on December 7, 1943, Dr.Teresa was known for her wit and humor, for her fierce Polish nationalistic spirit, her devotion to faith and family, and her love of Saks Fifth Avenue.
She loved people and often walked with them in both joy and sorrow. Dr. Teresa earned the title of medical doctor in her hometown of Warsaw, Poland, in her husband's native country, Slovakia, and also completed her psychiatric residency in Gainesville, Florida. She and her husband worked as doctors in Bradenton for more than 40 years. She touched many lives with her passion, spirituality and straightforward manner -at times unconventional and always definitive. She was confident in her abilities and frequently declared, " I am a doctor!" She is survived by her devoted husband of 57 years, Dr. Bartholomew Vereb; her daughter Teresa Katherine; her eight grandchildren, Isabella Morgan, Samantha Frances, Simon Peter, James Malachi, Philomena Mary (Tilden), Felix Ignatius and Henry Oliver and Caroline Grace (Vereb); her brother Lech Biskup. She is preceded in death by her parents, Josef and Henryka Biskup and her son, Dr. Bartholomew Vereb. A Funeral Mass will be held in Bradenton at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, 1220 15th Street W, Bradenton, FL 34205 at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, January 28, 2026. Burial will follow at Fogartyville Cemetery,4200 3rd Ave NW, Bradenton, FL 34209.
