It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Terry Gordon Lamb, who left this world on November 17, 2025, at the age of 75. Born on May 22, 1950, in Warren, Ohio, Terry was a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend who made a lasting impact on everyone he met. His life was a testament to resilience, service, and an unwavering commitment to family.
Terry was the cherished son of Herbert H. Lamb and Dorothy Lamb, who instilled in him the virtues of hard work and integrity. He was preceded in death by his Father, Herbert Lamb, stepmother, Dorothy Lamb. Birth Mother, Lillian Smith, stepsister Donna Goff and his half-sister, Lilly Blaney.
Terry is survived by his devoted wife, Phyllis Lamb, and three daughters, Jackie, Jessica, and Amanda, who were his pride and joy. He is also survived by his loving siblings, sisters Marlene and Janice, and his brother Herb.
Terry's journey took him to the battlefields of Vietnam as a member of the Marine Corps. He served on active duty from 1968 to 1974, proudly holding a combat tour during the Vietnam War. His service earned him numerous accolades, including the National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry, Good Conduct Medal, and the Marksmanship Rifle Badge. His commitment to his country and fellow Marines was unwavering, and he carried the motto "Semper Fi" in his heart throughout his life.
After his military service, Terry transitioned into a successful career in law after graduating Emory Law School, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and his Law Degree. Initially working in residential construction to support himself while attending school, he later became an associate attorney with an esteemed Atlanta law firm.
Driven to establish his own practice, he opened his own law firm in Atlanta, where he served his community with passion and dedication until relocating to Bradenton, Florida, in the early 2000s.
Terry was a proud member of the Bar Association. He had a wide array of interests, particularly a passion for collecting and shooting firearms, swords, and knives. Above all, he loved his family fiercely, cherished his time in the Marine Corps, and had a special affinity for animals of all kinds. Known for his generosity, Terry was always willing to lend a helping hand or offer advice to anyone in need.
In his later years, Terry faced the challenges of cancer with incredible strength and grace. He fought valiantly for over three years, and the family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who assisted with his comfort and well-being during this difficult time.
A funeral service to honor Terry's extraordinary life will be held on December 6, 2025, at 3:00 PM at Brown & Sons Funeral Homes, 604 43rd Street W, Bradenton, Florida, 34209. A second honoring of Terry will be held by the Marine Corps Reserve on December 8 at 1:30 PM at the Wall of Honor at Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Road 72, Sarasota, FL. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to any animal protection groups, like the Cat Depot of Sarasota and similar groups and the Marine Corps Toys for Tots, two causes that were dear to Terry's heart.
Terry will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy of love, service, and kindness will continue to inspire those he leaves behind. Rest in peace, dear Terry, knowing you made the world a better place. Semper Fi!
