Australia's First Lady of Blues is headed back to Bradenton. Anni Piper launched her 2013 U.S./Canadian tour in Florida, including a June 20 show at Ace's Live. Based on the success of that show, Piper has added a Bradenton date to her most recent tour and will take the stage at Ace's this Thursday night at 8 p.m. The beautiful songstress has been a crossover star down under since her 2004 debut Jailbait, which earned her "Best New Talent" at the 2005 Australian Blues Music Awards.
The January 9 show at Ace's is a no-cover charge event, so don't miss your chance to see Piper's red-hot show in one of the area's most intimate venues.

SKYLAB is the live project of Sarasota-based original singer/songwriter/musician Berry Duane Oakley—son of Berry Oakley, founding bass player of the Allman Brothers Band. Oakley lives a life of music, full of incessant touring and weekly gigs in Siesta Key, and pushes his sound forward as far as he can take it.
According to the group's official Facebook page, "SKYLAB experiments with music, sounds, tone, feel, groove, and all that we thought we knew in music. Known as a blues rock band with a twist, SKYLAB continues to grow into it's rockfolkblues psychedelic sound."

Have Gun, Will Travel—from Bradenton—are scheduled to tear through Ace's this Saturday night with supporting act Matt Woods Band.
Florida's multiple Best of the Bay-winning Americana makers HAVE GUN, WILL TRAVEL have a natural instinct for combining folk, pop, rock and classic country influences to create a sound all their own. "Their music has a great energy to it with infectious, sing-along choruses and refrains" remarked NPR's Robin Hilton. American Songwriter called HGWT's music "organic, infectious Americana Pop. Their music has a refreshing immediacy to it."
HGWT's music has been featured in a national Chevy TV commercial; multiple episodes of the PBS series Roadtrip Nation; a GTE Federal Credit Union TV and radio ad campaign; and an episode of CBS's The Good Wife. Their albums have spent months on the CMJ Radio Top 200 chart and ranked as high as No. 3 on WMNF 88.5 Tampa's list of most-played albums.
HGWT's live performances have been described as rousing, rollicking, energetic and dynamic. "Matt Burke & co. have what it takes to win over any crowd" - Suburban Apologist
The band's fourth full-length album "Fiction, Fact or Folktale?" was released in September 2013 on This Is American Music.
