The Prince of Egypt: The Musical Comes to MPAC August 21

BRADENTON — Manatee Performing Arts Center will present DreamWorks' The Prince of Egypt: The Musical from August 21 to August 31. From the creators of Wicked, this breathtaking stage production is both timeless and timely—telling the awe-inspiring story of Moses through soaring music, stunning visuals, and emotionally charged performances.

At the heart of it is the journey of two brothers—one born a prince, the other a slave—whose destinies alter the course of history. This powerful musical features the Academy Award-winning song “When You Believe” and is directed and choreographed by MPAC Producing Artistic Director Rick Kerby, with musical direction by Daniel Lauritzson and Rebecca Dikranian.

Based on the Book of Exodus, with songs from the 1998 DreamWorks Animation film of the same name, the musical follows the life of Moses from his role as a prince of Egypt to his ultimate destiny of leading the Children of Israel out of Egypt.
