This Week in Local Government: April 7-11, 2014

BRADENTON –  The Palmetto City Commission will convene for a workshop and regular meeting on Monday. At Tuesday's regular meeting, the BOCC will vote on approval of revised procedures to its meetings. At the Manatee School Board workshop Tuesday afternoon, the board will be given an update on a plan to sell more than an acre of property at Jessie P. Miller Elementary. At the regular meeting that night, a number of public hearings are set to take place, including a proposed amendment to the district's bullying and harrassment policy and and a proposed new policy for handling head injuries from sports. The Bradenton City Council will hold a regular meeting on Wednesday, with an award for a construction contract for water main improvements to Pospiech Contracting for almost $1.8 million. The Manatee Planning Commission will meet on Thursday.
