This Week in Local Government: August 26-30, 2013

BRADENTON – The Manatee School Board will meet for a regular meeting on Monday. That same evening, the Palmetto City Commission will hold a joint workshop with the Palmetto CRA Board to discuss the CRA's budget for FY 2014. During a regular meeting on Tuesday, the BOCC will have a public hearing for a request to rezone part of Robinson Preserve, and will also discuss a drafted ordinance that would implement an additional homestead property tax exemption for low income seniors that have resided in the county for at least 25 years. On Thursday, the school board will meet again for an early afternoon public hearing on the district's 2013-14 budget, immediately followed by a workshop on audit protocols and its scheduled Wednesday training sessions for teachers.
