This Week in Local Government, May 17

Posted

MANATEE COUNTY -- Last week was quite eventful in local government. The Manatee Board of County Commissioners voted down a motion to enter into negotiations with Cafe' on the Beach for the Manatee County Beach Concession and voted to move forward with a new St. Pete based vendor. The Bradenton City Council had a first reading for a proposed ordinance to ban "pill mills" in the city, and the Manatee School Board dissolved the school zone for Rowlett Elementary. Among this week's highlights, the Palmetto City Council holds its monthly meeting, while the County Commission holds a joint session with the Sarasota Board.
