Margaret ''Meggy'' Sullivan Moran Nelson passed away late Wednesday afternoon in the company of her adoring family and close friends. Meggy was born on Feb 2, 1923 at Alabama City, AL but called Hattiesburg, MS her home. Meggy is survived by her children, Kevin, Michael, Richard Moran, Cindy Waite, Charlene Collins and their spouses and 6 grandchildren.

In 1946, the Moran's moved to Bradenton. Meggy married Bob Nelson in 1969. Both Bob and Meg were very active in the community. Meggy was a member of the Church of the Cross for 25 years. Meggy loved music and was a very accomplished pianist and organist.

The Viewing will be held Sunday, April 13, 2014 from 4-6 PM at Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory 43rd Street Chapel. Funeral Services will be held at the Church of the Nazarene 10AM Monday, April 14, 2014. Condolences to www.brownandsonsfuneral.com.

James V. DeCarlo, 72, Bradenton, died Apr 7, 2014. Survived by sisters, Loreen (John) Thaden of Bourbonnais, IL and Diane (James) White of Greenacres, FL. David W. Marsh, 46, of Ellenton, passed away suddenly on April 4, 2014. He grew up in Lorain, Ohio and moved to the Bradenton area in 2001, where he worked for the last several years as an electrician for Miller Electric. Dave's passion was riding his Harley with friends and spending time with his daughter, Gianna.

He is survived by his wife, Lori, his daughter, Gianna Marie, two stepsons, Christopher  and Nicholas Lewis; his parents, James and Anne Wolfe of Bradenton; brothers, Michael (Katherine) Marsh of Chicago, IL, Paul (Kimberly) Wolfe of Strongsville, OH, and Thomas (Kelli) Marsh of Urbana, OH; sisters, Therese Hartwick (Brian) of Selkirk, Ontario Canada, and Kristen Theisen (Nicholas) of Bradenton; five nephews and four nieces who loved their Uncle Dave very much. Always a fun-loving guy, he will be missed by all those whose lives he touched. His big smile will be forever remembered.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at Peggy's Corral, 4511 US Hwy 41, Palmetto. Arrangements are being made by Brown &Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory 43rd Street Chapel, 604 43rd St. W, Bradenton, 34209. Rowland Peek Shannon, Sr., "Rowpeek," 58, Bradenton, passed away April 2, 2014. Rowland was born March 30, 1956 in Bradenton to Joseph E. and Eugenia (Raymond) Shannon.

A lifelong resident of Bradenton, and was a graduate of Manatee High School Class 1974 where he was Senior Class President. He continued his studies by attending Belmont University in Nashville, TN where he majored in Music.

Growing up Rowland would help his father Joseph by working at Shannon Funeral Home, was the owner of AdSpecialties  Incentives in Bradenton for many years, and then worked as Account Executive for Tasco/Halo-Branded Solutions. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Bradenton, President and founder of the Manatee County Native Club, member of the De Soto Celebration, Manatee "100" Club, former member of the Bradenton Yacht Club, Manatee County Historical Society; he was also an avid hunter and fisherman

He was predeceased by his father Joseph and is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Cathi (Schenk) Shannon, three precious children; Rowland, P. Shannon, Jr., Ryan J. Shannon, and Cierra E. Shannon, all of Bradenton, mother, Gene Shannon, brother, J. Ray Shannon of Bradenton, two sisters; Sally (Bill) McGill of Braselton, GA., Katherine Ann Shannon of Bradenton, and many extended family members and friends.


He will be truly missed by all and treasured in his family's heart forever.

The family will receive friends from 4-6 P.M. on Sunday, April 6, 2014 at Shannon Funeral Home Westview Chapel, 5610 Manatee Ave. W., Bradenton. A Celebration of Rowland's life will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, April 7, 2014 at Shannon Funeral Home Westview Chapel, Bradenton with interment to follow at Fogartyville Cemetery, Bradenton.

The family request that in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions be made to the Manatee County Historical Society in his memory. Condolences for the family may be made online at www.shannonfuneralhomes.com.
