Nathalie Ann Close-Samulski, 80, Bradenton, died July 2, 2014. Born in Boston, Massachusetts she moved to Bradenton in 1992 from Buzzards Bay, Massachusetts.

She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church where she was also a volunteer, a member of the Board of Perico Bay Club, and she was a volunteer at Blake Medical Center. She was an avid bridge and tennis player, loved gardening, reading, needle point, and she made prayer cushions for her church, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Predeceased by her parents, Franklin E. and Nancy (Shafer) Huntress; husbands, Joseph Close and Sam Samulski; survived by son, Ivan Hartwell, III of Palmetto, FL; step-son, David Samulski of Bradenton FL; daughters, Natalie Jackson of Bradenton, FL, Lauren (John) Mamlock of W. Barnstable, MA and Sarah (George) Zmudzien of Pymouth, MA; brothers, Rev. Franklin E. Huntress, Jr. of Marblehead, MA and Frederick A. (Linda) Huntress of Meredith, NH; grandchildren, Aimi Jackson, Sarah Somai, Elizabeth Jackson, Whitney Jackson, Nancy Mamlock, Meghan Mamlock, George Zmudzien, III and Andrew  Zmudzien.

Gilbert Walker Knowles, 87, Bradenton, died June 29, 2014. Born in Stubenville, Ohio he moved to Bradenton in 2001 from Orlando, Florida. A Veteran of the US Army he was a member of the AFLCIO, Mailers Union, he was an Election Deputy Volunteer and he attended Ss Peter & Paul the Apostles Catholic Church.

Survived by wife of 62 years, Phyllis of Bradenton, FL; son, Joseph of Bradenton, FL; daughters, Janet Beeman of Orlando, FL, Debra Baker of Des Moines, IA, Nancy Clark of Bradenton, FL, and Amelda Miller of Des Moines, IA; brother, Clifford Knowles of Pembroke Pines, FL; 13 grandchildren; and many great grandchildren.

Visitation 6:00-8:00PM Tuesday July 8, 2014 at Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory 43rd Street Chapel. Mass 9:30AM Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at Ss Peter & Paul the Apostles Catholic Church Chapel. James H. Miller, 86, of Bradenton, FL, passed away on June 21, 2014. Jim was born in Scranton, PA to Barbara and Herman Miller on September 18, 1927.

Jim was a US Army Veteran serving in Japan during and following WWII. Jim worked for Bell Telephone, various coal companies, and IBM until 1968. In that year he became co-owner of a steel fabricating company in the Scranton area. He ran the company for many years until he returned to Bradenton. He was a long time member of St. Peter & Paul the Apostles Catholic Church Parish in Bradenton. His favorite hobby was tinkering and he could fix almost anything.

Jim is survived by his sons, Jim (Iris), Jack and Jeff; 7 grandchildren and his sister, Ann Kearny of Scranton, PA.

Memorial Mass will be 9:30 AM, Saturday, July 5, 2014 when his ashes will be placed in the St. Peter & Paul the Apostles Catholic Church Memorial Garden, along with those of his wife of 57 years, Mary Jean Farley whose ashes were placed there in 2005. Carrie N. Coalts, 84, Bradenton, died June 24, 2014. Survived by daughter, Audna Charette of Apopka, FL, 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
