Thomas Owen Luxon, 78, of Bradenton, FL passed away on August 11, 2023 of cardiovascular complications. He was born August 23,1944 in Pontiac, MI. He retired from enthusiastically teaching mathematics at Southeast High School in Bradenton, FL after 30 years. He coached the girls' tennis team for several years. Tom earned his BS and Master's degree in Mathematics Education from Michigan State University. He earned his doctorate in Computer Science at Florida State University.
He is much beloved by all his family, neighbors, and his good friends. Tom was ALL THERE for us whenever we needed him. We are sure that he also treated his students and tennis players this way.
Tom will be buried at Sarasota, VA cemetery. He honorably served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam war from 1965 – 1967. At his request, there will not be a funeral. There will be a Celebration of Life at a future date for family members and friends near the Bradenton, FL area. We will post a short obituary giving the date so many may know. He was preceded in death by his parents; Harry and Tressa Luxon; his sister, Judy Smith; many beloved aunts; uncles; cousins; a nephew; and of special note, the heads of the Luxon clan; Harry and Jean Luxon (paternal grandparents).
He is survived by his brothers; Harry (Sandy) Luxon, Richard (Bebe), Luxon; his sister, Lynn (Don) Manning; numerous cousins; nieces; and nephews (both great and great-great); spouses are included equally as family members in the Luxon clan.
