Timothy Patrick Bliss

Timothy Patrick Bliss, 77, of Bradenton, Florida, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2026.

Born on March 7, 1949, in Rutland, Vermont, Tim lived a life defined by service, courage, devotion to family, and a passion for the skies. A decorated Vietnam combat veteran, he proudly served his country in the United States Army and retired after an honorable 23-year career as an Army Instructor Pilot. His dedication, leadership, and skill earned him the respect of those who served alongside him and the many pilots he trained throughout his military career.

Beyond his service, Tim found joy in the things he loved most. He was an avid pilot who never lost his passion for flying. He enjoyed photography, capturing special moments and the beauty of the world around him, and treasured spending time with his family, including afternoons at the gun range. His adventurous spirit, sense of humor, and unwavering love for his family created countless memories that will be cherished forever.

Tim is survived by his beloved wife, Niayana Joy Bliss; his children, Michael (Breanna) Bliss and Taleena (John IV) Bliss-Ondich; and his treasured grandchildren, Athena Bannister-Short, Kileah "Teddy" Bliss, and Trevor Ondich.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy Bliss and Robert Bliss, and his siblings, Jerry Bliss and Mary Bania.

Those who knew Tim will remember him as a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, loyal friend, proud veteran, and mentor. His strength, wisdom, and dedication to those he loved left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Brown & Sons Funeral Homes 43rd St. Chapel, 604 43rd Street West, Bradenton, FL, 34209.

Interment with military honors will take place on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Bay Pines National Cemetery, 10000 Bay Pines Boulevard, Bay Pines, Florida 33744.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Moffitt Cancer Center in Tim's honor.

Though he has departed from this world, Tim's legacy of service, love, and devotion will continue to live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched."
