Tom Jakubowski, 71, Bradenton, Florida, passed away unexpectedly at home on Friday, November 8. He was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and grew up in Hales Corners, attending Whitnall High School, where he excelled in Football. He continued his football career at UW-Platteville, where he achieved All-Conference and 2nd Team All-American Honors, in addition to obtaining his degree in Education. He continued pursuing his football dreams, trying out for the Green Bay Packers and playing football for the Delavan Red Devils National Championship Semi-Professional Team. Tom also obtained a Masters Degree in Special Education, and was a very successful teacher and coach for many years, shaping the lives of many young people. He also was a champion weight lifter.
Tom is survived by his two brothers, his best friend Ken (Nancy) and his oldest brother Bob (Cheryl), both in Wisconsin; numerous nieces and nephews, many other family and friends, and his closest friend Alice of Bradenton. He was preceded in death by both of his parents.
Tom has asked that his body be cremated and his ashes scattered in the Gulf of Mexico. There will not be a service. Tom's friendly nature, companionship and sense of humor will be sorely missed.
