The Tunnel to Towers Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting America’s first responders, Gold Star families and military veterans, will break ground on its “Bradenton Veterans Village" this Saturday.
Manatee County donated 8.7 acres of real estate in Bradenton to the foundation to build a state-of-the-art Veterans Village. Once completed in 2025, the village, located at 4410 66th Street West, will feature a new 84-unit apartment complex, an on-site comprehensive supportive service center and a community of 38 Comfort Homes.
In addition to the wrap-around on-site services, the complex will have a gym, workforce development center, outside amenities center, pickleball court, multipurpose room, game room and lounges.
The groundbreaking event will feature samples of Cole Hauser’s Free Rein Coffee, lunch provided by retired members of the FDNY and family-friendly activities in the kid's zone.
The groundbreaking will take place Saturday at 10:00 a.m.

Thank you, Commissioner Kruse, for bringing T2T to Bradenton! We also appreciate the T2T foundation for sticking with this project even after commissioners sent e-mails and texts to the public stating this was a "homeless camp" and "homeless shelter". Every citizen should watch the meetings leading up to and including the final T2T vote on October 10, 2023. With the exception of Commissioner Kruse, the behavior by the other 6 commissioners and their treatment towards the T2T Foundation was disgusting.

George Kruse spearheaded this great mission. Lets not forget a few FACTS
County webpage states “Manatee County Donates Land for Veterans Housing” Fact check, The county did not donate anything. It was paid full market rate of 6 million dollars from the Federal ARP monies
Lets not forget on a crucial vote that George Kruse wanted to move this project forward, not 1 or 2 but 3 commissioners were not in chambers at the time of the vote, so it failed for lack of a second. Insult to injury, 2 of the 3 were Veterans themselves. Disgraceful at best.
VOTE NO KVO even touted it as a homeless shelter to rile up the folks around there and that blew up in his face.
Snacher limited the number of units to be build even under the density provision they were entitled to. Unreasonable demand but they agreed.But the gang of 6 at the time as no problem rubber stamping several thousand homes for their political developer friends.
Wait there’s more, the utilities had the 6 million of Federal funds deposited into there account from the get go, yet refused to convey deed and title for months further delaying the permit process. Don’t own the land even when it’s paid in full cannot start the permitting process.
That brings us to today, still we have homeless Veterans in our community that this BOCC board has done nothing to take care of our Veterans TODAY.
The gang of 6 tried every witch way to derail this mission.
Yet they show up today to patting themselves on the back. Hypocrites
