MANATEE COUNTY - The Environmental Lands Management and Acquisition Advisory Committee announced in a press release Wednesday that there are two openings for citizen seats on the committee. The seats are available to any resident of Manatee County.
The committee is responsible for making recommendations to county commissioners on matters of environmental land acquisition and management, along with recreational planning and programs on the county's land and preserves. The group also identifies and evaluates undeveloped land adjacent to bays, rivers and the Gulf of Mexico.
The Manatee County Government Web site said the advisory committee has 15 members with terms of one year.
The committee meets on the first Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the first-floor commission chambers at the Manatee County Administrative Center.
