Vera M. Zabecki, 90, of Sarasota, Florida passed away on Friday, June 14, 2024. Vera was born January 1, 1934, in Jersey City, New Jersey to the late Vera and John Mele. She was the third to a family of seven girls. In 1969, Vera married the late Edward Zabecki (2014) and lived in Bayonne, New Jersey until 1999 when they moved to Lake Hopatcong, New Jersey.
Then in 2006, they moved and lived in Bradenton, Florida, where Vera resided until 2019. Since then, she has been a resident of The Pines of Sarasota Skilled Nursing Facility in Sarasota, Florida. Vera is preceded in death by 5 of her sisters: Rose, Fannie, Carmela, Jean and Henrietta; and two nieces: Debra Ryan and Judy Parga. She is cherished, loved and survived by sister, Elsie Williams, 14 nieces and nephews their spouses, and many great Nieces & nephews.
A Memorial Mass to Celebrate Vera's life is going to be held at a later date at Saint Martha Catholic Church, 200 N Orange Ave, Sarasota, FL 34236. A Private Inurnment will be held at Sarasota National Cemetery where Vera will be laid to rest with her husband, Edward.
