It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Vicki E. Noon, 77, of Bradenton, FL, who unexpectedly died on May 1, 2026. Born in Miami County, Ohio and raised in Piqua, Ohio, Vicki was the daughter of the late Kenneth L. and Ruth E. (McMaster) Boggs. Vicki was the loving wife of William J. Noon III, to whom she was married for almost 58 years. It had been love at first sight from the time they met on a skating pond when she was 16 years old, a love story that was one for the movies. Bill promised to love her until the end of time and they sealed their bond of marriage on July 20, 1968. As time went on, their love grew and so did their family, all while supporting each other through college.
She followed her calling to help those in need by proudly graduating from Wright State University with a Bachelor of Science Nursing degree (B.S.R.N.) in 1981.Vicki was a nurse with the kind of courage that mattered. She dedicated her life to caring for others with kindness, compassion and skill. She moved to Rhode Island in 1985 and worked at Kent Hospital in Warwick, RI until her retirement as an Emergency Room Charge Nurse. She loved being a nurse not just for her patients but for her family as well. She volunteered her services post 9/11 while not giving a thought about herself. She was most proud of her service during the worst fire in the history of Rhode Island, the Station Nightclub Fire on February 20, 2003. She was just finishing her shift when they were notified of the catastrophic fire. She and her staff stayed and worked until dawn. As she later recalled “Every available space was filled with a stretcher, every stretcher was filled with a burn victim. The ED was a beehive of activity as everyone concentrated on preserving the life that lay before them… I have never been as proud of my profession or this institution as I was at this moment.”
In addition to the love of her life, her husband Bill, she is survived by her beloved children: William J. Noon IV and his wife Michelle, Jennifer Mulholland and her husband, James. Vicki was the devoted and proud grandmother of Noah, Austin, Savannah, Olivia, and Kenadie. She also leaves her cherished brothers, James Boggs and his wife Joyce, and Kenneth Boggs Jr., her brother-in-law Fred Cronin, her sister-in-law Sue Ellen Fagin Allen and her husband Robert Allen, and many nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, and neighbors. She was the sister-in-law of the late Nancy Cronin, with whom she was very close, and the late Nicholas Noon.
Vicki loved her fur babies, having many dogs and cats throughout her life. She also loved hummingbirds, butterflies, flowers, and wind chimes. She was a voracious reader and always had a new book to begin as soon as she finished one. Following their retirement, she and Bill moved to Bradenton in January 2015. They enjoyed a quiet life together and were utterly devoted to each other. Everyone who knew Vicki loved her. She was a loving, strong, courageous, intelligent, and kind woman. Her love and kindness impacted everyone she met. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Arrangements will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Vicki’s memory may be made to the animal charity of your choice.
