Vier Bradford Metcalf, 92, passed away January 1, 2024, in Bradenton, Fl. He was born October 12, 1931, in Ashtabula, Ohio, the son of William and Bonita Metcalf.
On April 1, 1999, Vier married Joyce Klingensmith of DuBois. She survives.
He joined the Army and was stationed in Hawaii for 2 years. Post Army, Vier was an insurance and realty agent for Martin Metcalf Insurance. After retiring, he had The Ice Cream Station. He enjoyed boating, flying and hunting in Pennsylvania. After moving to Florida, he was involved in golf, shuffleboard and playing cards.
Vier was a member of The United Methodist Church of Sun City Center.
Vier is survived by his son William Clayton (Ashtabula, Oh), daughter Mary Ann, Grovetown, Ga., Sisters Nancy (Gerald) Rader, Findlay, Ohio, and Janice (Jon dec.) deRidder, Geneva, Oh. Survived by several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on July 5 at noon. Baronick Funeral Home, 211 S. Main St., Dubois, PA 15801. A private burial will be in the Beechwood's Cemetery.
