Virginia M. Corbin, 92, passed away on December 13, 2024 at her home in Bradenton, Florida. Virginia was born in Dearborn, Michigan on February 14, 1932, to Ralph E. and Mary Avis (Douglas) Bumgardner.
Virginia was predeceased by her husband of 27 years, Glenn E. Little, and her second husband of 7 years, Curtis H. Corbin. She is the loving mother to her son, Kim (Cinde) Little, and daughter, Terry (Sam, deceased) Short, grandson, Aaron (Kacie) Short and three great grandchildren, Charlotte, Zachary and McKenzie.
She was predeceased by her baby brother, Paul, sister, Dora Jean Gressley, and brothers, Ralph Jr., (Sonny), and Duane Bumgardner. She is survived by her brothers Harold (Bud) (Norma) Bumgardner, Glenn (Donna) Bumgardner, and twin sisters, Sharon Dickey and Shirley Bumgardner.
Virginia moved with her family from Schoolcraft, Michigan to Bradenton, Florida, in 1971. She was a beautifully gifted woman and enjoyed cooking, sewing, painting "Artistic Mom", gardening, writing poems, playing the organ and devoting time to her family and friends. Her beloved dog, Buddy, was her loyal companion for many years.
Virginia loved music and taught organ and piano earlier in life. In her final years, she would often play the organ in the chapel where she lived at Woodlands Village. She was followed by many of the residents and would also play along with other musicians. Everyone enjoyed listening to the flowing, beautiful music she would play so gracefully. She often mentioned that she was very content living at the Woodlands where she was surrounded by many of her paintings and memorable treasures that made it her cozy, warm home.
Funeral Service will be at 2:00 PM, Friday, December 20, 2024, at Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory 43rd Street Chapel, 604 43rd Street, Bradenton, FL 34209, where visitation will begin at 1:30 PM.
