Weekend Adventures in Bradenton: June 7-9, 2013

village of the arts

BRADENTON -- Mote Marine Aquarium hosts their annual Dr. Suess themed World Ocean Day Festival this Saturday. The Marauders are in and out of town and back again, all in just three days, and the Village of the Arts will host its Art in Bloom ArtWalk this weekend in the village. Grab you sunscreen, it's time for a Wacky, Wild Weekend Adventure in Bradenton!

ArtWalk is back this weekend in the Village, where the theme is Art in Bloom. The Village of the Arts is showing it's colors for the June artwalk and this is the perfect time to see the Village in its full beauty.

Set in colorfully painted 1920 cottages, the Village's 25 galleries and 3 restaurants will be bursting with vibrant art creations and tantalizing gourmet cuisine by our resident and local artists and in-house chefs. Add some colorful music to the mix and early summer in the Village of the Arts can't get any better than this! Join us for a really bloomin' time.

A worldwide ocean celebration is on the horizon — join the fun during the World Oceans Day Family Festival on June 8 at The Aquarium at Mote Marine Lab. Mote’s World Oceans Day event will feature a Dr. Seuss theme to spotlight the ocean's deep connection to the human spirit and the boundless inspirational power of our natural world's greatest resource.

This year’s event will feature games and crafts focused on green practices, marine science and conservation by Mote and other local organizations.

Official sponsors of World Oceans Day are Association of Zoos and Aquariums, The Ocean Project, Dr. Seuss and Random House Children's Books.
