Weekend Adventures In Bradenton: September 13-15, 2013

BRADENTON – Football season is in high gear. As area high schools head into week 2, Manatee will host an elite Washington D.C. academy in a special showcase game at Hawkins Stadium. Grateful Dead fans are in for a treat when a noted cover band hits Ace's Saturday night and September is a great month to get back to area beaches! Grab the pigskin, put on your tie-dye and don't forget the sunscreen. It's time for a Weekend Adventure in Bradenton!

Coming off of a big win over rival Venice High Friday night, in a game that was supposed to provide one of the Hurricane's toughest tests of the season, Manatee will bring plenty of momentum into Friday's big game against Friendship Collegiate Academy, who opened their season with a 33-6 win last week. Coach Joe Kinnan's team, ranked number one in the state in 8A, is once again on the title hunt, led by a swarming defense and exciting running game.

It's September. The weather is still hot, but the summer crowds have rescinded. Get over to the island and enjoy our beautiful beaches without having to hover for parking.

Stop by the Manatee Beach Concession for a cold drink or some grub, maybe even their all-you-can eat pancake breakfast. Check out some of the island's other eateries like Feeling Swell and eat here! and take in a sunset at Beane Point.

You're not living in Florida if you don't take advantage of our best attraction!
