BRADENTON – It's the weekend and you know what that means. If you guessed another great lineup of local, talented musicians in Manatee and Sarasota counties, you would be correct. Check out The Bradenton Times Weekend Sounds to see what bands you can catch at your favorite venues.

Memphis Rub Band 
Clancy's Irish Sports Pub
Friday: 6:00 pm-10:00 pm 

Memphis Rub Band is a 4-piece band from the Sarasota/Bradenton area performing a blend of blues, rock, funk, and R&B. Starring Gary Drouin on guitar, Scott Matzke on bass and vocals, Dan Ryan on keys, and David Wells on drums/vocals, they perform both covers and original music. In 2018, Memphis Rub released their first album, "Taste," and several tracks from the album have been played on area radio stations WMNF and WSLR, including "Red Tide Blues." No cover.

Clancy’s Irish Sports Pub is in Bradenton off Cortez Rd. Clancy’s is known for its bar-fare food, full liquor bar, live entertainment, and, most of all – fun! Their casual and relaxed atmosphere has been described as "Irish Tavern meets Jimmy Buffet." Music is provided inside and outside, with their outdoor venue featuring a coastal vibe and famous Tiki-hut bar. 6218 Cortez Road West, Bradenton.

Hot Club of SRQ -

The heart of this ensemble is the violin and vocals of Keven Aland, the guitar of Jon McLaughlin, and bass of Glenn Stevenson. Their string jazz ensemble has been thoughtfully cultivated and crafted for over a decade. There is a genuine warmth and connection that is unique to this ensemble. This group can swing ferociously and then suddenly hypnotize you with a beautiful ballad.

Beyond the genre of Gypsy Jazz, their vast repertoire includes Rumba Flamenco, Bossanova, Samba, Tango, BeBop, Modern Jazz, swing, Afro-Cuban, and the great American songbook. All members of HCSRQ have education backgrounds in Music Performance and have been commissioned to write, arrange, and perform a variety of world music over the years including dances from Chile, Argentina, and Bolivia, an Appalachian arrangement, and a "Broadway" themed performance at the Straz Center in Tampa. No cover.

Jason Haram Group is a hard hittin', power trio, Texas Blues style band. Jason has shared the bill with the likes of Percey Sledge, Scott Holt, The Doobie Brothers, Eddie Money, Pat Travers, Wes Jeans, Kenny Wayne Shepherd & many more. No cover.

Located riverside, Caddy's Bradenton can be reached by foot from the nearby Riverwalk Park, by car, or by boat via the Manatee River. This pet-friendly tropical-themed venue has scenic riverside views, two large tiki huts, and an outdoor stage. Taylor Opie
Blue Marlin

Taylor Opie is a full-time musician based in Sarasota, Fla. Opie specializes in songwriting, performing, and studio recording. She comes from a family of artists, and music was always at the forefront of her upbringing. She writes authentic and vulnerable music that people can connect to. Aside from playing out regularly, she's currently focused on building up the original music scene in Sarasota, alongside the brilliant community of musicians that she's lucky enough to call her friends. No cover.

Blue Marlin: Our cuisine focuses on daily fresh fish brought in directly from the Cortez fishing fleet.

Daily, local fish selections not only provide our restaurant with the freshest possible fish but also give us the ability to offer daily specials with that day’s catch.

Although the focus of the menu at Blue Marlin Seafood is fish, we also offer a variety of dishes including steaks, chicken & other landside features. There is something on the menu for everyone at every price point and they offer children’s meals too on the “Mini Marlins” menu.

Nat Langston is an up-and-coming young picker from Sarasota, Florida featuring hot acoustic fingerstyle and slide guitar in styles ranging from early ragtime, acoustic blues, early Chicago blues, and Americana.

About the venue:

Jigg's Landing Outpost features a light menu, adult & soft beverages, snacks and Yoder's ice cream. Live music Thursdays through Sundays, 3 hours before sunset.
