Annika Chambers & Paul DesLauriers
Cottonmouth Southern Soul Kitchen
Saturday - 7:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.

Both on stage and in private life, these two internationally acclaimed artists share incredible chemistry! Their first introduction (lasting only a few seconds) in the crowded lobby of the historic Orpheum Theatre during the 2018 International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tennessee, left a lasting impression on both of them. It was not until a year later, at a recording session during 2019 IBC that their professional acquaintance blossomed into a love affair, culminating in marriage in August of 2019! Since that time, renowned Canadian Blues-Rocker Paul DesLauriers and acclaimed American Soul-Blues singer Annika Chambers have unified their artistic destiny, much to the joy of everyone who's had the pleasure of hearing and seeing them together! Cover $15 pre/$20 DOS

Grant Peeples with Liana Gabel
Fogartyville
Saturday - 8:00 p.m.

A self-described “tree-hugger that watches NASCAR,” Grant Peeples is known for his axe-sharp socio-political tunes, raucous humor and heart-gigging ballads.

He is the recipient of the Focus Foundation Award for Creative Excellence, which cited the “humor, compassion and wisdom of his songs,” and their “unflinching social insight and cultural acuity.” Peeples tours coast to coast and is a regular performer at The Woody Guthrie Folk Festival, the 30A Songwriters Festival, and The Florida, Folk Festival.

He has been a keen observer of the American condition for five decades, ever since a friend introduced him to the music of Bob Dylan.

Through many years on the road, running a night club/music venue in Tallahassee, and after a 10-year stint on an isolated island off the coast of Nicaragua, Peeples turned to writing with a vengeance. He wrote poetry and songs that turned a critical eye on American culture and identity, the very definition of contemporary folk music.

January 2019 marked a second tour in The Netherlands, where FolkForum.nl described him “…a pure storyteller, in the best American folk tradition…” and his show “…one of those gems that you will remember for a long time…”

Peeples released his album, “A Murder of Songs,” in February 2023.

Through her music, Liana Gabel takes seemingly familiar stories, themes, and tropes about being human and transforms them into that which is profoundly unfamiliar and novel, yet warm and comforting.

Her observations about the changing landscape of our relationships, the country, the world, clearly inform her work as a singer, songwriter, guitarist, and percussive tap dancer.

Be ready, as inspired and encouraged by Pete Seeger, she will get you singing right along.

The Currywurst Food Truck will be offering authentic German street food.

Grant Peeples | Liana Gabel opens | Saturday, Feb. 17, 8 p.m. | Doors open at 7 p.m.

Tickets: $15 members; $18 not-yet-members; $9 students (13+)
