BRADENTON — It's shaping up to be another great weekend for 941's live music lovers. The beloved folk'n trio Folknharmony returns to the Cafe in the Park, country rock band Rye Road performs twice this weekend, musician Joey Tenuto and his band are bringing the blues to VOTA, and RJ Howson and Mike Kach rock the ""big top"" during Sunday's Blues and Brews—and that is just some of the shows in this week's line up. Folknharmony
Café in the Park
Friday: 7-9 p.m. 
Folknharmony is bringing its folk'n jams back to Sarasota’s Cafe in the Park this Friday! With wit, grit, and three-part harmonies, the stripped-down acoustic trio finds new spirit in iconic, generational rock, folk, and blues songs from the last half-century. This trio's interpretations of popular covers offer uniqueness and renewal that will have listeners falling in love with their favorite songs all over again. 
 
Folknharmony includes Beau Wilberding on Cajon and vocals, Dr. Zachary Johnson on acoustic guitar and vocals, and Nancy Gauvreau on vocals, rhythm guitar, and percussion. No cover.

Located in Payne Park, downtown Sarasota, Cafe in the Park captures the spirit of a quintessential urban cafe terrace. It's the perfect place for a great coffee, a fresh sandwich, and live music. Memphis Rub Band
Island Time Bar and Grill

Memphis Rub Band is a 4-piece band from the Sarasota/Bradenton area performing a blend of blues, rock, funk, and R&B. Starring Gary Drouin on guitar, Scott Matzke on bass and vocals, Dan Ryan on keys, and David Wells on drums/vocals, they perform both covers and original music. In 2018, Memphis Rub released their first album, Taste, and several tracks from the album have been played on area radio stations WMNF and WSLR, including Red Tide Blues. No cover.

Island Time Bar and Grill is located on Anna Maria Island’s Bridge Street. Sinewaves
Gilligan’s Island Bar

Sinewaves is a southwest Florida rock band comprised of multi-instrumental musicians and friends. The band’s setlists include renditions of popular songs from multiple genres including rock, blues, funk, soul, country, and more. Through their reworked interpretations of yesterday's classics and today's hits, plus soulful vocals, Sinewaves is on a mission to deliver listeners ""sonic nostalgia"" and party vibes to keep the dance floor moving all set long. No cover.

Founded in 2001, Gilligan’s Island Bar prides itself on serving quality food, cocktails, and great service. The venue hosts live music on its front deck, and offers back patio seating, a tiki bar, and a fire pit for cooler nights. You can catch country-rock band Rye Road performing at the Big Top Brewery this Saturday! Rye Road has been rocking audiences up and down the Gulf Coast of Florida for over a decade. Their sound is a unique blend of new country and rock. The band features Pete Tamburin’s emotional vocals and country-influenced guitar, drummer Dan Garrido’s solid rhythms and amazing high harmonies, the energetic and booming bass lines of Bryant Crawford, and the soaring keyboards of Tim Meyer. Catchy, accessible melodies under lyrics that everyone can relate to, a sound sure to rock and move you! No cover.
 
You can also catch Rye Road this Friday at Stottlemyer’s Smokehouse from 7-10 pm. Stottlemyer’s is located at 19 East Road, Sarasota. No cover.

Big Top Brewing Company is a Sarasota-based production brewery. Joey Tenuto Band

The Joey Tenuto Band is a multi-piece blues band that performs authentic blues, rock, and original music. Fronted by guitarist and vocalist Joey Tenuto who got his start early in blues. Born in Illinois, Tentuto started performing and touring with his father (Joey Tenuto Sr.) in his youth. A resident of Palm Beach, Florida, Tenuto performs at numerous venues and festivals throughout Florida. No cover.

Located in Bradenton Florida's Village of the Arts, Birdrock Taco Shack is not your average taco joint, but a unique funky-fun taco spot and live music venue. Doug MacLeod
Cottonmouth Southern Soul Kitchen

Multi-Blues Music Award winner, Doug MacLeod, will perform live this Saturday at the Cottonmouth Southern Soul Kitchen. MacLeod secured the 2018 Blues Music Award for Acoustic Album Of The Year for his album, Break The Chain. In 2020 and 2023, MacLeod earned the Blues Music Award for Acoustic Artist Of The Year. The blues musician was also nominated for the 2023 Blues Blast Music Awards for Acoustic Guitarist Of The Year and Acoustic Album Of The Year.
 
An internationally touring artist, MacLeod writes and sings original songs based on his life experiences. The artist overcame abuse and a stutter in youth by turning to music, finding that when he picked up a guitar, he found his voice. Since his beginning, MacLeod has clocked over 30 years as a notable blues musician, 25 studio albums, several live records, compilations, two blues guitar instructional DVDs, and a live performance DVD, and has consistently earned rave reviews. 
 
MacLeod’s songs have been covered by several artists including Albert King, Albert Collins, Joe Louis Walker and Eva Cassidy. Cover is $20.

Located in Bradenton Village of the Arts, Cottonmouth Southern Soul Kitchen has quickly become one of Bradenton’s more popular outdoor music venues. Known for his eclectic southern dining, Chef Dave Shiplett puts his creative spin on southern classics serving up his brand of southern soul food in this 100-year-old cottage that doubles as an art gallery. Over its years of performing, Kettle of Fish has shared the stage with numerous bands and musicians including Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Roger Waters’ Band, Devon Allman, Pat Travers, Damon Fowler, and Dickey Betts, and they have played opening performances for artists such as Eddie Money, Molly Hatchet, Elvin Bishop, Tommy Castro, Trombone Shorty, the Marshall Tucker Band, Jimmy Buffett (at the famous Blue Heaven in Key West), and many more. 
 
Led by lead singer, guitarist, and band founder Dana Lawrence, Kettle of Fish delivers a sound that is a rootsy ""blues rock with soul"" that works to bring together soulful blues with the energy of rock n’ roll. If you like the sound of the Rolling Stones, Tom Petty, Otis Redding, Robert Cray, Stevie Wonder, the Allman Brothers, or The Grateful Dead, you will love Kettle of Fish. No cover.

Local blues guitarist RJ Howson picked up his skillful guitar chops while performing at notable clubs of the Windy City such as Buddy Guy’s Legends and BLUES on Halstead, as well as countless other venues across the Midwest. Having played since childhood, RJ has played everything from blues to funk, soul, rock, gospel, country, salsa, and world music. 
 
Keyboardist to Dickey Betts & Great Southern, Mike Kach's soulful vocals and masterful performance on the keys have made him a standout in music old and new. Kach can be heard on Betts originals like No One Left to Run with It, Nobody Knows, and Southbound. His own original ballad, Get Away, appeared on the Dickey Betts & Great Southern's
