BRADENTON – It's another weekend and you know what that means. If you guessed another great lineup of local, talented musicians in Manatee, Sarasota and surrounding counties, you would be correct. Check out The Bradenton Times Weekend Sounds to see what bands you can catch at your favorite venues.

Bri Rivera

Bri Rivera is a performing musician and vocalist in Sarasota, Florida. With her unique sound and renditions of your favorite covers, she will mesmerize you and bring live music to another level. Don't let them tell you about it, come and experience it.  No cover.

About the venue:

Marina Jack introduces unparalleled dining in a spectacular facility. Theater seating offers panoramic views over the marina, downtown, Sarasota Bay, Big Pass and out to the Gulf of Mexico. Menus incorporating the best of Marina Jack favorites along with the most current fresh seafood dishes are offered daily for lunch and dinner. Damon Fowler

Fowler is a masterful singer, guitarist, and songwriter. His music is representative of the many styles that make up the roots of American music. Critics have compared Fowler's guitar work to Johnny Winter and Jeff Beck, while his slide guitar is reminiscent of the late Duane Allman. Fowler is known for his fiery guitar runs, while his lyrical work on lap steel and dobro make him a stand-out performer among guitar heroes. The Florida native's hybrid of roots rock, blues, songwriting, and vocals has earned him professional accolades from fellow artists and music journalists alike.

The Damon Fowler Band features Fowler, drummer Justin Headley, and bassist Chuck Riley. Cover $20 pre/$25 at the door. 

About the venue: 

Located in Bradenton Florida's Village of the Arts, Birdrock Taco Shack is not your average taco joint, but a unique funky-fun taco spot and live music venue. Owner and chef David Shiplett (who also owns the popular Cottonmouth South Soul Kitchen) doesn't serve up just any tacos. Dave has worked as a Chef in San Francisco, San Diego, Sarasota, and now Bradenton. Dine inside the eclectic artsy shack or outdoors on the porch and back patio. The Spazmatics

Join The Spazmatics on Friday, September 15th, from 7:00 to 11:00 p.m. for a blast from the past like no other! This band will transport you back to the iconic sounds, styles, and dance moves of the 1980s. Complete with skinny ties, Brylcreemed hair, and horn-rimmed glasses, this band recaptures all the best of that unforgettable decade. With outstanding musicianship, creative flair, and oodles of style, The Spazmatics deliver a high-energy, quality show that’s perfect for any occasion. No cover.

Venue: BRADENTON’S BEER GARDEN AND TAPROOM - Join us for a lovely afternoon or evening in our famous Beer Garden under a 150-year-old oak tree or enjoy our Taproom that is full of our great beers, wine, spirits, and cocktails.

We strive to fine-tune award-winning craft beer delivered to satisfy anyone’s palate. Our beers and service are performance-driven, the same as the Hudson service center housed in our brewery during the 1940s and 50s.

Based on weather conditions, Live Music may be performed in the Taproom.

Sara Nelms

Sara Nelms is an Americana singer-songwriter based in Sarasota, FL. Nelms' sound combines the control and melodic power of her classical training, melancholy of lost loves, the southern stylings from a lifetime love affair with country music, and the grit and truth found in her former home in New York City. Nelms performs throughout the Sarasota and Bradenton areas.  No cover.

Experience the social side of Waterside Place! Enjoy live music on The Plaza, detox with yoga at Waterside Park and take in Sunday Funday at The Farmers’ Market. We’ve created a space for everyone to discover their happy place, to share laughs, and to make fond memories.

'Shout it out - Cancer Free!' Benefit Concert feat. Truality
Neel Perfroming Arts Center 
Saturday: 7:00 p.m.

Truality is extremely excited, as we have partnered with Trinity Youth and Families, Inc. and Exodus Community Resources, Inc., two incredible local community nonprofit organizations, to present our 1st Annual “Shout it Out - Cancer Free!" benefit concert.
 
This special night will feature Truality Gospel Band and Friends as we celebrate our Founder and Music Director, Dennis Clove's, victory over prostate cancer and raise funds and awareness to aid in providing care, support and resources to cancer fighters and their families battling this disease, everyday, right here in our community.
 
A portion of all proceeds from the concert will benefit Team Tony Cancer Foundation and Sarasota Prostate Initiative, both Sarasota-based, non-profit organizations tirelessly working to help support and save lives in the cancer fight.
 
General Admission: $20.00
VIP (Rows A-C General Admission & pre-show reception from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m.): $50.00

Since 1966, the Neel Performing Arts Center has served as a cultural center for Manatee and Sarasota counties hosting both college and community sponsored events.
Pilot Jonezz

Saturday: 7:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. 

Pilot Jonezz (PJZ), also known as your friendly neighborhood punk soul heroes, are headlining with Pet Lizard on Saturday night. 

"Pilot Jonezz is an Alternative rock quartet currently electrifying stages in the Tampa Bay Area through a Deft blending of Post Punk, Soul, RnB, Hip-Hop, Funk and Breakbeat elements into an energizing, psychedelic, groovy, shimmering indie rock package. they invite more POC to take up space in the alternative world and certainly boast the chops to keep 'em grooving." 

Pet Lizard is a group of Tampa-based cyclists who formed a band in the summer of 2021 after discovering their mutual love of punk rock. 

The Pilot Waves and Earthgirl will also be performing.

OSCURA has been reimagined and relaunched in the neighborhood of Old Manatee, with award-winning food and beverage programs, creative events, quality live music, and entertainment.

We are taking that established brand that was built over two and a half years in the previous location and adding new layers; with aesthetics that represent our view of Bradenton past, present and future.

Justin Layman
Fiorelli Winery & Vineyard

Justin Layman is a Singer/Songwriter from Sarasota Florida. He plays guitar and performs a unique style of music combining Folk, Rock, and R&B.

Justin has been performing since 2004 in original bands as well as cover bands all around the state of Florida. He is a member of the band The Curious Bedfellows alongside his wife Sara Nelms and percussionist Eddie James.

Justin has Recorded three albums ("Almost There," "02 03 Ten," & "You Shouldn't Look Like That"). No cover.

Fiorelli Winery was started with humble beginnings in 1998, now more than 20 years later we are happy to continue sharing our love of wine with our guests who we consider a part of our family!

Aside from making wine, we offer wine tastings as well as private tours. We also host a wide range of private events such as weddings, birthday parties, corporate gatherings and so much more. If you can dream it, we can host it.
