BRADENTON — At the next Federation of Manatee County Community Associations meeting, on Tuesday Sept. 16, the FMCCA will host guest speaker Whiting Preston, President of Manatee Fruit Company, who will talk about his vision for the future development of his property near IMG Academy. 

Mr. Preston has proposed plans to build a 1,322 acre mixed-use community called in west Bradenton called Lake Flores. The property lies approximately from IMG Academy west to 75th Street between Cortez Road and El Conquistador Parkway. 

The Lake Flores development will reportedly feature 6,500 residences half of them single family homes, approximately 1 million square feet of retail space, two million square feet of office space and a hotel.

The meeting will begin at 6:45 p.m. at the Synovus Bank, 2520 Manatee West in Bradenton. All county homeowners are welcome to attend.
