William Irvin "Bill" Embody passed away in his sleep in Bradenton, FL, at the remarkable age of 102 on Sunday, November 20, 2022.

Born in Pottstown, PA on June 2, 1920, to Roy and Lillie (Haring) Embody, Bill was a graduate of Pottstown High School class of 1937. Bill met the love of his life, Connie (Jensen) Embody and they married on April 12, 1952. They moved to Buffalo, NY, in 1963 where they raised their family and made so many cherished memories. Upon retiring with Connie to Bradenton, FL, in 1986, they spent many days on the links at River Wilderness Golf and Country Club in Parrish, where Bill had two hole-in-ones after the age of 75 to highlight his golfing tenure that lasted well into his 90s. At one point, he was the oldest member at River Wilderness. Bill was the founder and president of the Perico Island Palm Villas Condominium Association, whom he proudly served until the age of 99. Bill could often be found at Duffy’s Tavern on Anna Maria Island, where he enjoyed a cold draft beer and a mushroom swiss cheeseburger. He frequently enjoyed traveling to Tampa on a fall Friday to watch his grandsons, Billy and Andy, play high school football at Carrollwood Day School. He hardly ever missed a home game.

The family would like to extend their most sincere gratitude to Bill’s Home Helper, Gigi Lorenzetti for the many months of loving care, kindness and friendship that brightened his days. The family would also like to extend many thanks to Dr. Joe Ganey and the staff at Surrey Place in Bradenton for providing exceptional care in Bill’s final days.

Bill is survived by his beloved daughter, Wendy Passman of Perico Island, Bradenton; his son, Derek Embody and his wife, Charlotte, of Tampa, FL; grandsons, Billy and his wife, Michelle and Andy and his fiancŽe, Darby Uhl.

There will be no local Services at this time. Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory 43rd Street Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
