William H. "Bill" Law, 77, passed away Friday, September 29, 2023, at Freedom Village Rehabilitation Center, where he was recovering from a hospital stay. Bill was born December 19, 1945, in West Palm Beach, FL, to Curtis P. and Eva Josephine (Woodruff) Law. He was the oldest of three children and big brother to Patrick and Michael Law. Bill graduated from Westbury High School, Houston, TX, in 1964, and the University of Houston in 1969 with a major in English.
He then began a long career in sales, primarily in appliances. He started his professional career at Houston Natural Gas, preparing the company's newsletter and then advanced to Magic Chef and later Litton, traveling throughout the southern US as a sales representative and then to Panasonic, where he represented the entire state of Florida in sales. Bill was awarded numerous recognitions from these companies for his sales expertise, and was chosen for the President's Circle for his sales with Panasonic.
After leaving Panasonic, Mr. Law was a substitute teacher and teacher at Manatee High School. Bill enjoyed guitar playing, cooking, and being with family. He was known for his sense of humor, his ability to tell a joke well, and his kindness to all. He contributed to the community as a member of the DeSoto Society. He was a very devoted husband, brother, uncle, father, and grandfather and friend. Bill met his wife of 52 years, Sandy (Green) Law, in Houston in the summer of 1970, (a pool, a bikini, and a guitar were involved), and they married in February, 1971, in Bradenton, FL.
Their children, Jennifer Murdoch and Kathryn Carlock, were born in 1978 and 1980 while the family lived near Washington, DC. In 1983, the family moved to Bradenton to be near Bradenton and West Palm Beach family. He is predeceased by his parents.
Bill is survived by his wife, Sandy; daughters; Jennifer (Ian) Murdoch, Kathryn (CJ) Carlock; grandchildren; Isla Rose Murdoch, Elyse Grace Murdoch, Charles Connor Carlock, and Anna Josephine Carlock; brothers; Patrick Law (XiYan); Michael Law (Lori); niece, Rachel Anthony; cousin, Pam (Mike) Manning and family; and sister-in-law, Beverly (Green) Norwood.
