William McGuinnes

William McGuinnes, a retired police officer and resident of Bradenton, Florida, passed away unexpectedly on February 8th, 2024, at the age of sixty at his home.

Wiliam is survived by his wife, Ana; his children Billy, Sean, Alec, and Kelly; his son-in-law Levi; his grandchild Callahan; and his stepchildren Ana and Jorge.

William was born in Chicago on October 2nd, 1963. He spent his childhood in Chicago and Southern California with siblings John, Margie, John Larry, Carolina, Gino, and Anthony. William served as a police officer in Chicago's Northwest suburbs for over thirty years where he received numerous awards and honors, the most significant to him being the Northbrook Police Department Life Saving Award for saving the life of a 13-year-old child. He also served on numerous task forces as a detective and expert accident reconstructionist for the Major Crash Assistance Team (MCAT).

William was a devoted father with a great number of hobbies and passions. He enjoyed music, thrifting, collecting, motorcycles, cigars, exotic animals, and much more. William was an anchor to friends and family who would often seek out his stoic advice and wisdom. He was a world class ballbuster with the heart of a lion. Most of all he was a protector, helping the communities he served, his family, friends, and anyone who needed him.

A church service will be held at the Westminster Reformed Presbyterian Church on Easton Avenue in Prairie View, Illinois on March 9th at 11:00am. Reverend Stephen Welch will officiate.
