Woman found dead in Terra Ceia home, Sheriff's Office says

Manatee County Sheriff's Office detectives are investigating a suspected homicide in Terra Ceia.

According to a press release, deputies were called to 240 Bay Shore Drive at 7:50 p.m. Monday. The owner of the house, Dr. James Briles, said he came home to find his wife, Kathleen Briles, 48, dead in the house.

The cause of death is unknown at this time, but due to evidence at the scene the case is being treated as a homicide, the press release said.
