Wrilshxer Mendoza

Posted

Wrilshxer Mendoza went home on Friday, February 9, 2024. Born to Eladio Mendoza and Consuelo (Hernandez) Mendoza; she was a native of California.

Wrilshxer joined the Army right after high school. She served for 22 years. She enjoyed being a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne. The horror of the war stayed with her, she could never scrub her hands hard enough to remove those memories or the guilt of surviving. She did five tours in Afghanistan. She also suffered from chemicals that she was exposed to during the war. She earned many medals but did not like people to think of her as a hero.

She was an amazing runner, and the L.A. Marathon was her favorite. She was a woman of loyalty, respect, integrity and she always did selfless service. She also had a passion for animal rescue and gardening.

She is survived by her siblings, Connie, Lupe, Angie, Eladio, Stacey and Tatiana; brother-in-law, Steven, nieces and nephews, Consentina, Alexia, DC, Joseph, John, Wil, Maya, Ryder, Lennon, Hunter McKenzie; her dog, Dottie and Cat Dog.
