TAMPA -- The Marauders (32-58, 6-17) dropped a one-run game for the 20th time this season, falling 4-3 to the Tampa Yankees on Sunday at Steinbrenner Field. Dan Gamache went 3-for-4 with two RBI for the Marauders, including his 24th double of the season.

Bradenton scored a run in the first to open the scoring. Elias Diaz doubled with one out and scored on Gamache’s opposite field double. The score held up until the bottom of the fifth inning.
Joely Rodriguez stifled the Yankees on one hit until there were two down in the fifth. A two-out walk was followed by four straight hits, including a booming double off the bat of Alex Rodriguez to the base of the wall in center. Ali Castillo, Mason Williams, and Rodriguez each drove in a run in the inning to give Tampa a 3-1 lead.
The Marauders capitalized on a pair of Yankee errors in the seventh to tie the score against David Herndon (W, 1-1). Gamache singled to left to drive home Junior Sosa and tie the game after Benji Gonzalez scored on an error by Rob Refsnyder.
Matt Benedict (L, 0-9) took the loss after replacing Joely Rodriguez in the seventh. Willy Garcia misplayed a fly ball off the bat of Alex Rodriguez. Garcia recovered the ball to force out a runner at second base, but Castillo raced home from second to score. Manny Barreda retired the final six Bradenton batters to earn his second save.
The series finale of the is Monday at 7:05 p.m. The Marauders will send Adrian Sampson to the mound against Dietrich Enns for the Yankees. The game will be broadcast online at www.BradentonMarauders.com.
