Zachary Nickells Smith passed away suddenly and much too soon on March 7, 2024. He was born in Bradenton, Florida on April 21, 1985. He is survived by his mother, Kristin (Steve) Mead; his father, John Smith; his sisters, Andi (Eric) Daniels, Bethany (Tyler) Quiroz, and his nephews that he adored, Porter, Hunter, Hank and Nolan, He is also survived by his aunt and uncles, Hank & Marcia Dahlquist, Dianne and Mike Linsenman, Fritz and Dena Dahlquist, Doug and Theresa Dahlquist, Judy Baxter and his cousins, Sean, Leigh, Megan, Lenna, Abby, Hannah, David, Edmond and Elzabeth, as well as their extended families. Zack loved his family dearly and spoke about them to others all the time.
We will miss his witty banter, mischievous smile and infectious laughter. From a young age, Zack found a way to bring laughter into every situation and that lasted throughout his short life. He loved to play friendly pranks that would bring a smile and laugh to everyone involved.
Zack had a tremendous work ethic that was recognized and appreciated by every employer he had in his life. He was passionate about his work, which showed in his accomplishments as a surveyor. He was always striving to learn more and be the best he could be for his employer; it was very important to him.
Zack's journals showed his faith in God, as he asked Him for guidance and strength to be the best man he could be.
As his family struggles with our loss, we are reminded of the following:
"How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard." - Winnie the Pooh
