This reveals a desperate need for qualified teachers & subs in the Manatee Schools. One bad teacher or sub is a mistake... two could be a trend. The screening process of applicants must be tougher, or the attractions of the job must rise to a level where applicant numbers increase providing a choice of highly qualified persons of unquestionable proven character.
Delaying the inevitable... Those files are coming out, too many people want that can of worms open. There are many other people who participated on the other side of the files who deserve to be prosecuted. Some of those victims have been speaking out for decades. It shouldn't have taken this long.

As a person who SUPER appreciates privacy, I'm not a fan of this tactic. It's manipulative and invasive. Familiarity not earned is intrusive.

Incredible insecurity on display. I can't stand Kegs-breath, and I've never heard anything positive about him from my military friends and family either. They've voiced plenty of frustration at the drama and disrespect of the military and their families, though....
The Central Library is an integral part of the downtown community and provides much needed services to the area. The library stays extremely busy, it is not an under-utilized library and is one of the few places anyone can visit and enjoy the views of the Manatee River, even if reading a book while looking out over the river. Other city's have realized the value of their downtown libraries on valuable property and have improved them so they draw people downtown not selling to the highest bidder. One other reminder is there is a petition on change.org with over 12,000 signatures stating to leave the library where it is. Yes, it needs some updating/renovations but it is a jewel that was intended for the public to enjoy, not for private for-profit use.
Other studies done by Suncoast Waterkeepers show that North Palma Sola Bay is unsafe for human contact ten or so months per year. Go to the Suncoast Waterkeepers website for a month by month bacterial breakdown specific to North Palma Sola Bay. The local Florida Dep't. of Health publishes bacteria data on South Palma Sola Bay, but does not monitor North Palma Sola Bay.

Jason Garcia's latest Seeking Rents podcast detailed the sneaky way that DeSantis and the Fl legislature pushed through language that subsidizes Success Academy and other so called Hope private schools to proliferate. These subsidies were initially intended so that private schools can be established in poor performing, low income areas. But the changes pushed through this year at the very last minute will allow these taxpayer subsidized private schools to be built anywhere, including within existing public schools. Success Academy has rules that siphon off the best, higher income students and push out low income and more difficult students.
They're looking desperate, with moves like this. Their base is splitting, some seeing the intentional division being sown through America, some having already been harmed by policies and others realizing they voted in the "swamp."
The Kimall thing showed me that people are catching on. That was mostly individuals making a decision and acting on it in the moment. Initially, there was no mass organization or campaign, just people drawing a line in the sand. Then folks shared publicly what they did, and it compounded.
A "lapse of judgement?" Seriously? This was a planned event that brought in his whole family. Nobody should be surprised, however. Mr. Connor fits right in under the Bishop administration. Bishop once awarded a no-bid county contract to his girlfriend. Bishop also used his position to call in a Chicago politics type favor, phoning the Bradenton Beach Mayor and asking him to call to the owner of the Daiquiri Deck so Bishop's party would not have to wait in line. Bishop lied to the board and the entire county when he orchestrated the fraud falsely claiming that removing wetland buffers was a "county-initiated" proposal - even spending taxpayer funds to hire Carlos Beruff's consultant to make the presentation to the board while silencing the county's own environmental expert staff. Bishop allowed a county code enforcement supervisor to order an officer(over the radio) to remove a Hell No KVO sign from private property, which was an illegal act. Only the officer was disciplined, not the supervisor. Bishop promoted dirty cop felon Tom Wooten to run Code Enforcement, allowing the department be KVO's personal police force, a violation of county policy. For over a year, Bishop violated county policy by using his personal cell phone to text county business, with the purpose of avoiding public records law. Bishop's missing texts were part of the public records lawsuit in which the county was found in violation of the law and ordered to pay $75K. Bishop was informed, and shown emails confirming that Shelter manager Sarah Brown asked that a 2022 county shelter evaluation report conducted by the Univ of Florida be provided by phone with the stated purpose of avoiding a public record that could be "used as a weapon" to criticize her. Charlie Bishop, who is responsible for BoCC meeting agendas, deceivingly slipped (or allowed his deputy to do so) approval of a controversial University Pkwy roundabout contract on the consent agenda so that residents would not have a chance to object. Under Bishop, Carlos Beruff was approved to build dwelling units on his (Beruff's) personal property that violated building codes. Our County Administration can't be trusted to do the right thing when no one is looking. Mr. Connor has a bright future in Manatee County under Charlie Bishop. The fish rots from the head.
Yikes. Sure wish he had stuck to allotted time of 15 min.
I would have preferred to see the faces of the audience to see their reaction. Was anyone fact checking him or did the lie-o-meters break?
