Additional Palmetto and Bradenton Railroad Crossings To Be Closed For CSX Repairs

MANATEE- Four additional railroad crossings in Palmetto and Bradenton will be closed for repairs by CSX Transportation beginning November 4. Palmetto crossings at 5th, 9th, 11th Street W and 11th Street Drive are scheduled to be shutdown for railroad tie repairs on November 4th for at least seven days.

Last Friday, Manatee Deputy Director of Field Operations Chad Butzow announced railroad crossing closures throughout north and south county so CSX Transportation can replace railroad ties on its main line. The schedule of crossing closures is as follows:

Monday  Nov. 1: Crossings at 26th, 30th, 32nd and 37th Avenues in east and south Bradenton.

Tuesday Nov. 2: Crossings at Ninth Avenue/Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue and 13th Avenue/Third Street East in Bradenton.

Thursday Nov. 4: Crossings at Fifth, Ninth and 11th Streets west and 11th Street Drive West in Palmetto.

Monday Nov. 8: Crossings at 39th Street East; 49th Street East/Experimental Farm Road; 61st Street East/Palm View Road; 73rd Street East; 77th Street East; and Bishop Harbor Road in northern Manatee.
